First, I have to start this out by saying if you weren't at Apex this weekend, you seriously missed out. My sweet and wonderful husband did an amazing job speaking. He's usually behind the microphone with a guitar, so delivering the message tends to make him a little nervous. This week it didn't matter how he felt, because God had something to say. He did such a great job clearly communicating what God is doing in our midst right now and what He truly desires from His church. And...if you didn't already know, you heard this weekend that Phil and I are adopting. This has been brewing in our hearts for a while now. We've prayed about it, talked about it, researched it, and we are now at a place that we know we would be straight up disobedient if we didn't do it. We are so excited to begin the process! We are getting ready to put our house on the market, and once it sells and we are in a new one, we will be sending in our application. We are waiting until we get in our new house just because a home study would start as soon as we're approved, so we wouldn't want to go through that process twice. We know God's timing is perfect in all of this. We plan on going through America World because we are so impressed with their programs and the way the Word is infused in everything they do. We will be going to a seminar next month to hear more from them and also from other families who have used them. Right now we are leaning toward getting our new little family member from Ethiopia. This is something that has been in the forefront of our hearts and minds, so I couldn't really keep blogging without sharing it. God is calling us to step out in faith, and even though it's easy to get overwhelmed and scared, we're ready! We would absolutely love your prayers as our family prepares to begin this exciting new phase of our lives! Here are a few links to some other blogs I read that are using the same organization and adopting from Ethiopia. They might help give you a little more insight into the process.
