#3 Adoption FAQ How are you going to pay for that?!

Hey, you know what? That's a great question! Well the truth is, there is no way by earthly standards that we would ever be able to pay the $19,000-$29,000 that is estimated. This is where our faith is going to be actually working. We one hundred percent believe that God is leading our family to adoption, and therefore we one hundred percent believe that He is going to make a way. Yes, sometimes I semi-hyperventilate when I think of the cost, but I have to cling to the fact that He has it all worked out. We are hoping that sometime in March we will be putting on a benefit concert (details hopefully coming soon) and we will then assess where we stand and brainstorm for more fundraising ideas. Once our homestudy is complete and approved, we will be able to apply for grants. We are praying very hard that God would do a mighty work through these avenues. But you know what? If it comes down to it we will get a loan and pay on it for 30 years if we have to. There truly is no price to high for our child. It is a very humbling thing knowing that we will be, in many ways, relying on the money that our friends, family, and strangers can donate. It is hard to ask for money, but we really want people to catch the vision God has for orphans and give because of that. We want them to know they will always be a part of something much bigger than they will ever know. It says in James 1:27, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.". God is very clear in His Word that He desires for His people to take care of those who don't have a way to do it for themselves. It says in Isaiah 1:17, "learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.". We also have a heart for orphans because we were once orphans and fatherless ourselves. We were alone in darkness until our Heavenly Father, in His vast grace and mercy, adopted us into His family. What a wonderful gift He has given us, all for His glory. We ask mostly that you would continue to pray with us as we are beginning the first step towards our child. Many people will read the dollar amount I typed above and say it is unlikely, or even impossible that we will be able to come up with it. On paper that is true, but that is why we are so thankful we serve a God who is bigger than any amount of money. Thank you all for the support and we are excited for you to walk along side us in the journey!

Amber,
You are so right that God is more than ABLE to provide the finances for your child to join your family! When we first started our adoption with Beckett, I would wake up in the middle of the night some nights in a complete panic over how we were going to pay for the adoption....and yet, every time I felt that way, God gently reminded me that He already had it planned out. And as you already know, God abundantly provided for Beckett's adoption. We are still humbled and blown away by the many ways God used the body of Christ to give Beckett a forever family! We are praying that Jesus would already by working in people's hearts to be a part of setting the lonely in families.
