My little hometown of Brookville, Indiana is celebrating it's bicentennial this year. There are huge festivities happenin', the likes of which our tiny town has never seen. One of those events is an "Idol" competition. You can see my brother here, I'm pretty proud. And he advanced to the finals, yay!

it went like this...

Gibson: "Mommy, you know what a predicament is?"
Me: "What is it baby?"
Gibson: "A predicament is when you don't know what the whole mystery is."
Me: silence
Gibson: "It is very strange."
Me: "Did you really just turn 3? Or are you like, 30 already?"

The definition of predicament: a difficult, perplexing, or trying situation. He wasn't too far off! I have no idea where he gets these things.

When I was a preschool teacher, the art project of the day was always my favorite. I, however, have been failing miserably at instilling this love in my own children. But let me tell you, I am in love! I have seriously fallen in love with this website. It makes me want to start crafting with my children immediately. Wonderfully whimsical and easy-to-do things! Now it is time to decide what we should do first...really, I'm not sure I can decide...

potty dance

I have found that recently Maya has been waking up from her naps with a dry diaper. I have been thinking, "Oh good, I don't have to change her." Why on earth was I not sitting her on the potty?! Well, apparently I have been brain-dead. So today I sat her on the potty and we had success! She was very excited and so was I. Tonight before bed she said, "potty!". Well...ok. So we went back, and she went right away! It definitely does help when I already have a potty routine with Gibson, so she is just seems to be falling in line with that right now. I am certainly not going to rush her, she is only 21 months, so I will just see where she takes it and when she is ready. But, I will chalk this up to progress. Happy, happy progress.

as promised...

So it is official that I am now the world's worst blogger. I'm just terrible at updating these days. We have been busy with our adoption paperwork and I have been consumed. So here are some vacay pictures, since it was weeks ago and all. I won't make any promises, because I know myself too well, but I can say I will try to update more!
