graduation

There is a church in our area that offers a free preschool.  Yes, I said free!  It is every Tuesday and runs September through November, and then January through March.  Gibson has loved it so, so much!  It also has been wonderful to have 2.5 hours every Tuesday to get my errands done!  Sunday night they celebrated the end of their time with a graduation program.  Each class performed several songs, and then did a few numbers with everyone together.  While Gibson's class was singing he started to dance.  It was so hilarious, because he was really getting into it.  The video I got of it was very blurry, so I hope his moves make the school's DVD!

Here he is on stage with his certificate:
Had to get a good shot of his school tshirt, he thinks it's very special:
Posing with his good buddy Haven:
He was really sad this morning when he asked what day it was.  It all sunk in that he would not be going to Tuesday School today.  I told him we would do lots of fun things this summer to make up for it!  He already can't wait to have new teachers and a new class in September.  Maya is also very excited, because she will be old enough to go too!

tippy thai

I have a weakness.  And weakness=Etsy.  I seriously could browse for hours!  There are so many special and unique things to look at.  LOVE Etsy.  Right now I'm in need of a purse, and I just can't seem to find one that's just right.  My ugly black purse that I have carried for 6 winters (yes 6!) needs to go off and die somewhere.  My friend Kate told me about these adorable purses she found on Etsy.  She was not lying.  I am in love with them!  I love the "lines", "pleats w/a flap", "buttons and arrows", "gathered flank".  Oh who am I kidding?  I love them all!  I think I would have a hard time choosing one if I were really going to order.  I think I would have to go with a "lines" purse in that yummy pear canvas color or the yellow hemp.  So Spring/Summer.  For the Fall and Winter months I think I would have to go for a "pleats w/a flap" in dark gray linen.  Maybe I should start saving my money (and then be willing to actually spend said money on myself)!
You really should get yourself on over there and check them out!

Spring

It's spring fever.  That is what the name of it is.  And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!  ~Mark Twain

one funny nightmare

I have had terrible dreams since I was a child.  Unfortunately, Gibson seems to be following in the same path.  He often wakes up scared or crying because of a bad dream he's had.  This one really made me laugh though.  He woke me up around 3am the other night crying, saying that he had a really scary dream.  Then he told me the details.  I had to fight all that was in me to contain my laughter.  Here's what he said:
"Mom, I had such a scary dream!  There was a monster standing at my door.  And he had really googly eyes.  Big googly eyes.  Then he came over to my bed and I was so scared!  Then I saw some poop in my bed.  It wasn't from me though, I didn't poop my pants, O K Mom?  But I picked the poop up in my hand, and I held it up to the monsters face.  And the monster didn't defeat me!  He didn't get me!  Then I woke up and the dream was gone, but I was still a little bit scared."

I mean seriously?!  Phil and I are still laughing about this one.

On our first warm Spring day we...

Rode bikes... Scribbled all over the drive way (and every other surface) with chalk...
Drove cars on our freshly drawn chalk roadways...
Sat around looking adorable and squeezable...Shouted so all the neighbors could hear...Danced around because we just got "married"...
Poked around in the bushes and the new green things pushing through the dirt...
Did more of sitting around looking adorable and squeezable...
And even worked together...

We had fun.
